CIAA directs Telecom to scrap tender

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has concluded that the quotations submitted by four companies in line with the bid announced by Nepal Telecom on Next Generation Network (NGN) are not effective.



The anti-graft body has decided to write to Board of Directors of the Nepal Telecom to make necessary decisions as per the prevailing Act and laws provided that the decision by the Board regarding the bidding on August 1 was found not in line with Public Procurement Act-2063. [break]



A complaint was lodged in the CIAA that the Telecom was signing contract with other companies by disapproving the tender by the company presenting low cost as per the recommendation of Evaluation Committee by breaching rules and regulation regarding the tender on NGN worth around Rs. 2.84 billion.
