CHITWAN, Oct 21: Chitwan, the district in province 3, witnessed 17 accidents ranging from major to minor during this Dashain. High speed is blamed for most of the accidents which killed 10 people, leaving 56 injured.

According to the District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, these data are related to the accidents occurred in the period between October 10 and 20.
Office chief Superintendent of Police, Sushil Singh Rathaur said the accidents took place on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section and the Prithvi Highway were due to overspeed and drivers were found drunk at the time. Similarly, with the beginning of the Dashain festival, the traffic police caught 20 drivers on a daily basis for drunk-driving and punished them. RSS
