"As a friendly neighbor, we sincerely hope that the political forces of Nepal could continue to seek political consensus through dialogue and consultation, complete the peace and constitution-drafting processes at the earliest, and lead the country to realize political stability and economic development," the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in Beijing, China, Thursday, responding to a query by representatives of the international media, in the context of the four major political parties in Nepal agreeing to form the interim election council of ministers for holding the election to the Constituent Assembly.[break]
The Chinese side welcomes that the major political parties of Nepal struck a deal on promoting the Constitution-drafting process and forming the Interim Election Council, the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Switzerland has welcomed the agreement reached by the major political parties late on 13 March 2013 and their commitment to national and local elections.
The embassy also congratulated Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi on his appointment as Chairman of the Interim Election Government, reaffirming its friendship with and support to Nepal and its people.
"Switzerland encourages constructive dialogue and the inclusion of the other political parties and interests groups, to ensure a peaceful and successful preparatory phase and the holding of free and fair elections," the Embassy stated in a press release today.
