China announces to provide medical equipment worth Rs 92 million to help Nepal fight against COVID-19 pandemic

KATHMANDU, April 27: China has announced to provide Nepal with an additional grant of medical equipment and materials equivalent to RMB 5 million (approximately Rs 92 million) to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.


Addressing a video conference of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka on Tuesday afternoon, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi made the announcement to complement Nepal’s national efforts to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

Addressing the video conference, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali stressed the need for an enhanced level of regional and international cooperation for COVID-19 response and economic recovery.


Foreign Ministers six countries agreed to strengthen pragmatic cooperation to combat COVID-19 pandemic, reinvigorate economic recovery and protect people's lives and livelihood, said a press statement issued by the MoFA.
