KATHMANDU, April 28: China has announced a visa fee waiver for Nepali citizens starting from May 1, 2024.
The Embassy of China in Kathmandu has decided to waive visa fees for regular applications for Nepali citizens seeking to travel to China.

Ambassador of China to Nepal Chen Song said that such a decision was taken to promote the relationship between the two countries and enhance service convenience.
However, while the regular visa itself is free of charge, there will be an express fee and service fee applicable. According to the Embassy, the express visa service fee ranges from Rs 2,700 to Rs 4,000.
Nepal already exempts Chinese citizens from visa fees. During a recent visit to China, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha had urged Chinese authorities to grant visa-free access to Nepali citizens.
