Min Raj Gyawali, chief of Mother Child Care Program at Care Nepal, said they have started mother-child care program in Doti district in view of the high child mortality in farwestern Nepal.

Gyawali said the main reasons behind high child mortality rate are infection during the birth, cold climate, less weight during the birth and respiratory problems.
