Charity cricket Sixes4Nepal held in Hong Kong

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The two-day charity cricket -- Sixes4Nepal -- organized by Hong Kong Cricket Association (HKCA) concluded on Sunday. The event was organized in Hong Kong with the view to raising funds for earthquake victims in Nepal.

All the matches were played on Sunday though the event was originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's matches were postponed following incessant rain, according to HKCA. Altogether eight matches were played on Sunday.There were six teams named after the earthquake-hit districts of Nepal with each comprising a national cricketer of Nepal. Sidhhant Lohani's team Nuwakot won the final of the charity event defeating Basant Regmi's team Rasuwa by 16 runs.

Nuwakot posted 84/3 in allotted five overs and restricted Rasuwa to 68/2 during the match, which featured six players in each team.

Sompal Kami (Gorkha), Sharad Vesawkar (Sindhupalchowk), Shakti Gauchan (Dolakha) and Bhuban Karki (Dhading) also took part in the event.

Meanwhile, Nepal beat Hong Kong by two wickets in another match played for five overs during the same events. Nepal chased down 97 overs target in the allotted overs losing four wickets.
