Cases filed against 79 firms

HETAUDA, Dec 19: The Food Technology and Quality Control Office (FTQCO) has filed cases in the last four months against 79 industrial and trading houses for selling and distributing adulterated and inedible food.

HETAUDA, Dec 19: The Food Technology and Quality Control Office (FTQCO) has filed cases in the last four months against 79 industrial and trading houses for selling and distributing adulterated and inedible food. 


The Office stated that cases have been filed against these industries and trade houses at the District Administration Office concerned after it was found in course of monitoring and test that the food sold and supplied by these business firms and industries were adulterated and inedible.

Food inspection officer Akash Kafle said the samples of foodstuff collected from various industrial and business houses in Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Sarlahi, Chitwan and Rautahat were found contaminated and adulterated when tested in the laboratory. 


According to him, the 79 industrial and business firms against which cases have been filed are related to dairies, tea and coffee, cooking oil, ghee, water, lentil and poultry feed.
