A total of 116 companies have managed their stalls in the four-day expo. The Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) has been organizing the expo. Smart mobile phone phones, tabloids and applications are the attraction of the expo.
Inaugurating the expo, Vice-President Parmanand Jha said that computer should be taken as knowledge enhancement by changing the earlier perception of a tool to get job offers.
Stating that it was necessary to provide computer education to children from their early age for changing computer as an inseparable part of the life, Vice President Jha stressed on the need of paying attention to extending information technology in rural area of the country.
He said that information technology is important to every people and added that the government should pay attention for further development of information technology.
On the occasion, the Vice-President honoured the software developer, Himal Shrestha.
Similarly, Minister for Science and Technology Umakant Jha said that September 17 is going to be celebrated as Science Day.
Vice-President of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Pradeep Jung Pandey complained that the government paid less attention for the development and extension of information technology.
Chairman of CAN Binod Dhakal and General Secretary Amrit Panta said that CAN has been working for the development of information technology in Nepal through such exhibition.
