TEHRATHUM, Sept 20: Due to a steep rise in the number of stray dogs in district headquarters of Tehrathum, Myanglung Municipality on Wednesday initiated a campaign to provide free rabies vaccination and spaying of stray dogs.


On the first day of the campaign, spaying of a total of 10 community dogs of Myanglung and Jirikhimti was conducted by a technical team.

Mayor of Myanglung Municipality Sanjaya Kumar Tumbahangphe said that because neutering dogs had long-term benefits, the municipality is prioritizing on birth control this year.


The campaign was led by veterinary doctors from Nepal Animal Welfare and Research Center, Kavre who supervised the birth control procedure.
