“The teams, which comprise up to 20 members each and five staffers from the secretariat, will reach every village development committee to collect people’s views on the contents and features of the constitution,” said CA Chairman Subas Nembang. He said the teams will reach out at least down to the VDC level.

He said the teams will comprise members from all the 10 Thematic Committees and use questionnaires related to all these committees in an integrated manner. “When they come back, they will tabulate and analyze the information separately and start drafting the statute on the committees’ respective jurisdictions,” he said.

Nembang said the CA is planning to hold a meeting with the prime minister, the chief secretary of the government and other top bureaucrats to help make the opinion collection campaign a success.

“We urge the government to concentrate all its resources and efforts in this process,” he said.
