Paddy production down in Bara
BARA, Jan 16: Production of Agahani species of paddy decreased by 71 percent in Bara this season, making the loss worth around Rs 1.26 billion rupees.
According to Bara District Agricultural Development Office, paddy production decreased by 11.1 percent due to late rainfall during the plantation period.
A total of 109,000 tons of Agahani paddy was produced in 34,965 hectors of land in the district this year. The production was 186,000 tons last year.
Assistant technician Hak Miyan Darji said delayed rainfall was the cause for the decline in paddy production.
