According to Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), the number of workers heading for overseas destination increased by 35.42 percent as compared to 217,164 workers recorded in the previous year. [break]
The highest departure was recorded in the 12th month (mid-June to mid-July) of 2009/10 when a total of 32,876 workers left for overseas job markets.
Like in the previous years, Malaysia, Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia become the dominant recipients of Nepali workers.
Malaysia became the most favorite destination for Nepali migrant youths, receiving 113,982 workers in the year followed by Saudi Arabia that welcomed 63,700 workers. Similarly, Qatar and the UAE remained in the third and fourth positions with 57,340 and 33,840 workers respectively.

Nabil Bank in Gorkha
KATHMANDU, July 20: Nabil Bank Ltd, the first commercial bank of the country, has established a branch in Gorkha as a part of expanding its network. With the new branch in Gorkha, the bank now has the network of 41 branches across the country.
