BUSINESS BRIEFS: Nepal, Turkey sign ASA

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Nepal and Turkey have signed Air Service Agreement (ASA) to operate aviation service between two countries.



According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Kishor Thapa, secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Dr Ali Ariduru, director general of Civil Aviation Department of Turkey, signed the agreement in the Ankara. [break]



As per the agreement, both the country can operate 14 flights a week between Kathmandu and Istanbul. Both the countries have also agreed to help each other as per the need in aviation related training, maintenance, air traffic management and others, the press statement added.





Pokhara to mark WTD



KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The Western Regional Chapter of Hotel Association of Nepal is providing free meal and accommodation to tourists on the occasion of World Tourism Day.



Issuing a press statement, the association said the first tourist entering the lake city on World Tourism Day (WTD) on September 27 will get free accommodation. Similarly, other guests will get 50 percent discount on accommodation and meal on that day, the association added.



Tourists can enjoy the facility in about 400 hotels under the umbrella of the association, Biplav Poudel, president of the HAN western region said in the statement.





CG launches Dashain offer



KATHMANDU, Sept 25: CG brand under the CG Electronics has come up with a festive offer for its valued customers during the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals.



Issuing a press statement, the company said buyers will get CG products on the purchase of any CG electronic item. Customer can also get the chance to win back the whole money spent on buying the product through a lucky draw which will be telecasted live on Image Channel, the statement added.



Buyers of 14 and 15 inch television and vacuum cleaner will get a leather belt wrist watch, while the buyers of 21 and 29 inch televisions will get CG dry iron. Similarly, the company is giving away a special pack of Rio fruit juice with CG refrigerator, CG steam iron with washing machine and CG DVD player with the purchase of LCD TV.



The buyers of microwave oven will get CG cooking kit, while the buyers of air conditioner will get CG rice cooker as gift, according to the statement.





Prism mobile´s festive offer



KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Prism Technologies -- the authorized distributor of Prism mobile phones for Nepal - announce a new festive scheme targeting the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals.



Issuing a press statement, the company said the customers buying Prism mobile phones can enjoy various prizes, including mobile sets, digital cameras, 10.2 inch notebook, 32 inch LCD television and cash discounts, among others through scratch card. The offer is valid till the second week of November.





Real estate training concludes



KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Brihat Investments in affiliation with Thai Real State Business School (TREBS) concluded third Real Estate Marketing Agent (REMA) training course on Friday. The training was organized to bring about professionalism in the real estate marketing and construction business, Brihat Investment said in a statement.



A total of 19 participants attended the training, during which they were informed about tools of business promotion, standard marketing practices, modern housing scenarios, tricks and tips of trade, prevalent rules and regulations of the city, registration and legal formalities of the construction business, architectural aspects and banking sectors´ role in housing and real estate development, among others.



Brihat Investments hopes that the trainees with proper knowledge and guidance will promote ethical business deals, raising credibility of land and housing sector.





Khetan chips in Rs 4m to build hostel



KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Khetan Group - one of the leading business houses - in the country provided Rs 4 million for the construction of a girl´s hostel on the premises of Kathmandu University (KU) in Dhulikhel. President Dr Rambaran Yadav Friday inaugurated the hostel constructed at the total cost of Rs 7 million.



Rajendra Khetan, chairman of Khetan group, handed over the amount on behalf of Late Mohan Gopal Khetan Foundation to the university. The hostel can accommodate 66 girls.
