The hotel has been awarding toppers of first, second and third year of its Bachelors in Hotel Management (BHM) program in the memory of former princess Jayanti Shah. The hotel awarded Ram Maya Tamang of first year, Manisha Shrestha of second year and Sapana Agrawal of third year with the ´Princess Jayanti Achievement Award´. [break]
State Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Shatrughan Prasad Singh Koiri gave away the prize worth Rs 37,000 each to Tamang and Shrestha and Rs 30,000 to Agrawal.
Dorji Sherpa, chief operation officer of the hotel, said hotel has been giving away the award to promising students as per the hotel´s corporate social responsibility (CSR). He also hoped that the award would be instrumental for the development of tourism in the country.
The hotel has also been supporting education of four students of Buddha Academy at Jorpati and providing hotel related trainings to a dozen girls taking shelter at Maiti Nepal.

LG introduces frost free refrigerators
KATHMANDU, Aug 4: LG has launched new range of LG frost free refrigerators. Also known as Nimbus series, the new range of refrigerators feature Green ion Door Cooling (GIDC) technology.
"Costumers´ loyalty toward LG brand in the Nepali market has motivated us to introduce the GIDC technology that sets it ahead in the competition" LG said in a press statement Wednesday.
The Green ion Door Cooling Technology creates the ideal frost free environment inside the refrigerator to ensure food remains tasty and nutritious for up to 2.5 times longer period of time, the statement added. It also said that the elegant micom panel in the refrigerator sets the optimal level of cooling for freshness at a touch of a button.
The company has introduced five models in four different colors -- Pink, Burgundy, Inox and Wooden tango in the market.
Kaspersky´s new anti-virus hits market
KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Sagar InfoSys has introduced the new edition of Kaspersky anti-virus, Kaspersky internet security and Kaspersky small office security in the market.
Jagannath Patnayak, channel sales director for South Asia of Kaspersky Lab, India, launched the new products in the Nepali market, Sagar InfoSys said in a statement. “The new version of anti-virus is capable of detecting harmful viruses and can even prevent future hazards,” the statement added. The anti-virus is priced Rs 1,000 inclusive of VAT.
Kaspersky anti-virus is in use in Nepal since 2008 and has more than 150,000 users, the statement added. Sagar InfoSys has been selling the products through its 250 dealers across the country.
