BUSINESS BRIEFS: Chery launches three cars, opens service center

KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Bama Motors, the official dealer for Chery cars in Nepal, Friday launched three different models of cars and a service centre in Kathmandu. The new models officially launched on the day were Chery A1, Chery Tiggo and Chery QQ3.



Chery Automobile Co Ltd is the top car export company in China. After this official launch, Nepal becomes the 71st international market of Chery cars, according to Bama Motors. [break]



Chery Tiggo costs Rs 2,965,000, while Chery A1 costs Rs 1,799,000. Likewise, Chery QQ3 is priced Rs 1,399,000 in Nepal. All these cars come in full options model.



"If the government comes up with the policy of assembling of cars here, we could sell our cars at 40 percent cheaper prices," said Santa Batas, director of Bama Motors.



All three models of cars have features like keyless entry, power windows, power steering, inbuilt air conditioning and music system, rear wiper, defogger, day/night rear view mirror, body color bumper, antitheft features, central locking, electrically operated side mirrors, child lock, alloy wheels, tubeless tires and auto-locking system. These cars also have optional features of dual air bag, adjustable steering, rear sensors and anti-lock breaking system.







Bama Motors also inaugurated its well-equipped workshop in Balaju. The workshop aims to provide the customers with after sales service, according to the company.



Bama Motors also has its dealer´s network in Narayanghat, Birtamod, Biratnagar and Banepa. It is also providing warranty of three years or 5,000 km (whichever comes first) on every Chery cars. It also provides 16 times labor free service within five years backed by spares and sales network.





Real juice launches Mickey packs



KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Dabur Real Fruit Juice has launched endearing Mickey packs. Real Fruit Power now comes with Mickey to generate excitement amongst the children.



“The different variants of Real 200 ml feature different Disney character on the packs. The new packs will certainly attract and create enthusiasm amongst the children with the campaign punch-line: ´Real Fruit Power now with Mickey´,” the company said in a statement on Friday.



To further add fun and thrill, children can participate in the Real Mickey contest and win exciting ´Real Mickey weekly gift hampers´. To participate one has to send five different characters of Mickey, cut and paste on a piece of paper along with the completed sentence “I love Real because………” to Foods Consumer Cell, Dabur Nepal, enclosing identity and contact number. The details of the contest are also mentioned on each 200 ml ´Mickey Pack´.



“Real Mickey contest is yet another innovative consumer excitement program launched by Dabur Nepal,” the statement added.





Nokia X3 buyer wins Rs 100,000



KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Madhu Thapa of Lalitpur has won the bumper prize of Rs 100,000 under Virgin Mobile´s ´Valentine and Holi Offer´ launched from February 4 to 27.



Thapa´s name was announced amid a program organized in the capital on Thursday. Thapa had purchased Nokia X3 phone from Virgin Mobile´s showroom at New Road.



Virgin Mobile also awarded cash prizes to 23 winners who had purchased mobile phones from the showroom. Surendra Thapa, Binod Shrestha, Gaurav Subba, Pramod Sharma, Rami Dangol, Uttam KC among others were the other winners.



Under the scheme, one of the lucky persons buying any branded mobile phones from Virgin Mobile´s showroom could win Rs 10,000 every day. Virgin had also introduced a scratch card through which buyers could get 3 to 56 percent discount.



According to the company, it sold 1,400 mobile phones under the scheme. It provided VAT bill on every purchase. The scheme was sponsored by Samsung. Virgin Mobile is currently dealing with all brands of mobile phones.



Meanwhile, Virigin Mobile has announced another scheme for the month of March. Under the scheme dubbed ´March Madness´, buyers will get scratch card through which they can instantly get attractive discounts.





Bigmart launches ´Naya Grahak Yojana´



KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Bigmart Supermarket at NLIC City Center in Kamal Pokhari has launched ´Naya Grahak Yojana´ scheme for all its valuable customers.



According to a statement issued on Friday, Bigmart has decided to further step up its efforts to provide more value to its customers through this scheme which boasts of a Bigmart special privilege discount card. Every customer with the card can avail two percent discount on every purchase.



In addition to it, Bigmart has also launched the ´Bigmart Everyday Rewards Program´, which provides attractive monthly incentive to its valuable customers based on certain attainable targets.



“Through this scheme, Bigmart promises bigger savings to its customers and hopes to bring about even bigger smiles,” the statement added.





NIC inaugurates Narayanghat branch



KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Nepal Industrial Commercial (NIC) Bank on Friday formally inaugurated its Narayanghat branch.



Chairman of the bank, Jagadish Prasad Agrawal inaugurated the branch, which was opened for business in September 2009. According to a press release, the branch provides all modern banking services, also provides evening counter and ATM service.



It has already build a customer base of 1,500 since the commencement of its service. NIC Bank posted 21 percent growth in net profit to Rs 40.40 million in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.



The bank has also launched a new savings deposit account ´NIC Happy Savings Account´, which can be opened with initial deposit of Rs 1,000 with special interest rate of 7 percent for women and senior citizens.





Lumbini Finance launches bonus fixed deposit



KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Lumbini Finance and Leasing Company (LFLC) has unveiled a new fixed deposit scheme named Bonus Fixed Deposit, under which fixed depositors of the company can enjoy additional one percent bonus return over the annual interest rate pledged for the account.



According to a press release, customers depositing Rs 100,000 or more in fixed deposits of a year or more in its Kathmandu, Laliptpur and Pokhara branch will enjoy interest return of 13 percent.



The scheme has been launched for a month, but if the volume crossed over the bonus limit the company has set aside for the scheme, it could be folded before a month as well, the company said.



The company, in its recently concluded annual general meeting, had recently decided to go for rights issue at a ratio of 1:1 to upgrade itself into a national level development bank.





Navin Distributor opens new showroom



KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Navin Distributor, the sole distributor for Belguim-made Balterio laminate flooring and Balta Rugs, Friday launched a new showroom called Square Foot at Anamnagar, Kathmandu.



“Balterio laminate flooring is popularly known worldwide and has also received ISO 9001 certification in April 2009,” Navin Distributors said in a statement.



The products of Balterio also have five years commercial use warranty and 15 years residential use warranty.



Navin Distributor is soon bringing Kent Water Purifier to Nepal´s market and will also provide 100 percent pure water guarantee in Nepali households.
