BUSINESS BRIEFS: BoAN, NLIC tie up

KATHMANDU, April 7: The Bank of Asia Nepal (BoAN) has signed an agreement with Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) to work as its institutional insurance agent.



Chief Executive of NLIC Manoj Kumar Bhattarai and CEO of BoAN Parsu Ram Kunwar signed the agreement to this effect amid a function on Wednesday. [break]



According to a press release, the two financial institutions expect the agreement to contribute greatly to promotion of their products and better serve their customers.



With the agreement, customers of NLIC now can conveniently enjoy insurance related services from all branches of BoAN.





Machhapuchhre´s Scheme



KATHMANDU, April 7: Machhapuchhre Bank Limited has introduced MBL Fixed Deposit Scheme from Wednesday.



According to a press statement issued on Wednesday, the customers can deposit any amount in any of the bank´s branches under the scheme. The bank will be providing 11.5 percent interest in the deposits under the scheme.



The bank will also be providing internet banking service, the statement said.





NRB nod to Civil Bank



KATHMANDU, April 7: Nepal Rastra Bank has given its nod for the opening of Civil Bank Limited, the 12th company of the Civil Group.



According to a press release issued by the Group, the proposed bank has experienced and potential shareholders along with an authorized capital of Rs 2 billion.



The Group has expressed commitment to provide international standard banking service to the customers, the statement added.
