SURKHET, March 15: Kankrebihar Transportation Entrepreneurs´ Committee has parked all its buses on the premises district administration offices of Kalikot and Dailekh, fearing retaliation from the Maoists who have accused a committee´s bus of hitting Maoist Rishi Prasad Gautam to death.

The committee has kept its buses off the road since one of its buses allegedly hit Gautam last Thursday.

Committee´s Chairman Rishi Prasad Regmi said the buses have been parked on the premises of district administration offices of Kalikot and Dailekh after irate Maoist cadres vandalized committee´s bus counters in Birendranagar in Surkhet and Chhinchu in Dailekh, to protest the death.

The committee said it has been suffering Rs 20,000 loss every day due to the halt in services.

But the Maoist Surkhet district in-charge said the party has no policy of vandalizing the committee´s buses. But he said, "It is natural for our cadres to be emotional at the untimely death of our leader. We do not have any policy of vandalizing the buses." However, he said his party has taken Gautam´s death as a mystery.
