KATHMNANDU, June 28: Government is preparing to call parliament budget session for the upcoming fiscal year from July 5, said Constituent Assembly (CA) chairman Subash Nembang with reporters after holding a meeting with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Monday.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav will be calling the budget session upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister.[break]

The main opposition party Unified CPN (Maoist) has been threatening to disrupt the House proceedings unless Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal steps down. They have said they would not let the government pass the budget from the parliament unless their demands are met.

The government has to bring its policies and programs by July 15.

The government cannot spend a single penny from the state coffers without parliament approving the vote on account bill by July 15 -- the last day of the current fiscal. The approval of vote on account bill allows the government to spend one-third of the total estimated budget, even as the parliamentarians go on debating on the budget.

Meanwhile, PM Nepal conferred with the President over the issue at the latter´s office in Shital Niwas.
