Budget doubled for PM Employment Program

KATHMANDU: The government has increased the budget for the Prime Minister Employment Program by more than two folds for the next fiscal year 2020/2021.


Unveiling the federal budget for the next fiscal year, Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said that the government has allocated a total of Rs 11.60 billion for the program.

In the last fiscal year, the government had allocated a total of Rs 5.1 billion for the program.


The finance minister also said that the government will create at least 200,000 new jobs for youths through the program in the next fiscal year.
