“He has come here to give continuity to his mediation. He will mediate for five to eight years,” said Ram Chandra Khadka, an aide to Bomjan. Bomjan arrived by a helicopter of Simrik Air at around 11 a.m.
Though Bomjan came without any prior notice, news that he was in the district for meditation circulated quickly. Over 500 villagers residing around Todke Bhir came for a glimpse of meditator Bomjan.
Before setting out for the district, Bomjan was at Uttarpur in Sarlahi district. “With the site in Uttarpur overcrowed with devotees, he could not concentrate in his mediation and so he was in search of a more peaceful place,” said Khadka. “I advised him to shift to Todke Bhir.”
Khadka, who himself is a permanent resident of Badegau, had built the cottage and made all the necessary arrangements for Bomjan´s comfort.
When Bomjan was at Uttarpur, he was dragged into controversy after he used government land for residential and meditation purposes. Many surmise that that must be the reason for Bomjan leaving the place and seeking another suitable place for mediation.
However, in Badegau, disciples of Bomjan have constructed a cottage on land provided by the villagers. As many as 16 people have arrived in the area to provide protection for Bomjan.
Aides of Bomjan have put up separate tents for themselves. “As Todke Bhir is a kilometer from Badegau, the tranquil environment will really help Bomjan attain enlightenment and salvation,” opined one of his disciples.
According to his disciples, Bomjan paid Rs. 150,000 as helicopter fare.
His disciples have brought eight dogs, two rabbits and horses with them. “The animals were brought for security purposes,” said Khadka, adding, “Food for us will be managed for now by locals.”
In 2010, Bomjan thrashed some locals at Manaharwa in Bara district when they allegedly tried to disrupt his meditation there.
Before going for mediation on Saturday morning, Bomjan had said to villagers that knowledge and salvation alone were the greatest religion in the world, informed a local quoting Bomjan.
