K-Pop band BTS is on a roll and there is just no stopping them. The nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards was announced early this morning and it came as no surprise that the K-pop artists earned a total of 5 nods.

With this, they tied with Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo, who also earned five nominations each.

Meanwhile, in the K-Pop category, BTS will contend with (G)I-DLE’s 'DUMDi DUMDi', BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s 'Ice Cream', MONSTA X’s 'Gambler', SEVENTEEN’s 'Ready to Love', and TWICE’s 'Alcohol-Free'.

ARMY took to Twitter to celebrate the band becoming the most nominated group in VMA history. However, many were also disappointed that the Korean stars weren't nominated for Artist Of The Year. The six stars in the running for the title include Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.

While some angry fans fumed at the diss, others said, "BTS didn’t get nom artist of the year cause honestly, they’re artists of the century and VMA can’t handle the honest to God truth."

As congratulations poured in for BTS and their nominations, fans also got the tag BTS Artist Of The Century trending on social media.

The VMAs that is set to take place next month, has Justin Bieber leading this year's list of nominees, followed closely by Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and first-time nominee Olivia Rodrigo.

Bieber has seven nods, including Video Of The Year and Best Direction for 'POPSTAR', Artist Of The Year, Best Cinematography for 'Holy' and Best Pop Song, Best Editing and Best Collaboration for 'Peaches'.

Megan Thee Stallion is right behind with six nominations, mostly from her hit song 'WAP'. She also was nominated for a second time in the Best Hip-Hop Song category for her work on Lil Baby's 'On Me (The Remix).'

Irrespective of the winners, female artists made history at the award show as two female collaborations -- 'WAP' by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and 'Kiss Me More' by Doja Cat featuring SZA-- are nominated for Video Of The Year.
