KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Brijesh Chaudhary's two goals on either side of India U-16 goals has kept Nepal U-16's qualification hopes alive in the second group match of the AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers 2018 played at APF Ground, Hulchowk. The Nepal striker scored in 76th and 88th minutes whereas India scored in 83rd and 85th minutes to end the match at 2-2 stalemate.
Iraq leads the table with six points after making it two wins in two matches whereas India is placed second with four points. Nepal registered the first point on board after playing a draw today with India. Palestine was comfortably defeated 4-0 by Iraq today in the other game to keep them at bottom of the table with zero points after the second round of matches.
Nepal began its AFC U-16 Championship 2018 Qualifiers on Wednesday, which is the second international competition the young footballers are playing in less than a month.
Nepal had reached the final of SAFF U-15 Championship but failed to lift the trophy on home ground after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of India.
