BRI strengthens Nepal-China partnership: PM Oli

During his visit to China, in an interview with China Media Group (CGTN), he mentioned that the objective of the BRI is to promote shared prosperity and overall development of the countries that are party to it, and that Nepal stands in support of this initiative.

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) agreement with China is extremely important for Nepal.


During his visit to China, in an interview with China Media Group (CGTN), he mentioned that the objective of the BRI is to promote shared prosperity and overall development of the countries that are party to it, and that Nepal stands in support of this initiative.

"This time we have signed the implementation framework of the BRI. This is a very important agreement, similar to an umbrella agreement. Under this deal, there will be projects covering all areas including political, economic, social, cultural, educational, and others."


He stated that this agreement would not only enhance the development strategies of Nepal and China but will also make a significant contribution to the fields of health and infrastructure development.


According to Prime Minister Oli, the BRI projects will be implemented in Nepal. He described this visit as his third successful visit and “particularly fruitful”.
