Boys Union edges Samajik for 2nd straight win

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Boys Union Club came from behind to beat Samajik Youth Club 2-1 on Friday for its second straight win in the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull B Division Football League being held at APF ground, Halchowk.



With the victory Boys Union also secured its place at the top of the table for at least 24 hours. Boys Union has six points from two matches while Samajik lies in the seventh place with three points. [break]



Sabin KC had given a 41st minute lead to Samajik but Anil Dhami equalized in the 57th minute while Ashis Thapa ensured victory for Boys Union with the second goal in the 90th minute.



The other match of the day between Tusal Youth Club and Swayambhu Club ended in a goalless draw. The result left Tusal and Swayambhu level on four points with Shree Kumari. Tusal shares the second position with Shree Kumari while Swayambhu lies in the fourth place.

There will be three matches on Saturday with Mahabir Studies and Athletics Association taking on Kathmandu Club, Birgunj Youth Academy locking horns with Satdobato Youth Club and Shree Kumari playing against United Youth Club.
