While the helpless mother Kamala Ghimire kept wailing and screaming for the help, a local good samaritan Resham Pokharel, by dint of his solo effort, eventually managed to pull the child from the river.

"The child was unconscious as he was carried away by the river," said Resham.

The mother-son duo have been staying in an elderly house in the locality.

Rescuer Resham was felicitated by local organizations for his act of kindness and bravado. RSS
