According to the company, it will formally launch the latest sedan manufactured by Skoda Auto India in the Nepali market in first week of August.
MAW is planning to introduce three variants of Skoda Rapid - Active, Ambition and Elegance in petrol segment while the company will also introduce the diesel variants depending on the market conditions. [break]
“We are hopeful that the customers will love the car and we will able to increase our market share as the new model of Skoda offers higher comfort, has prominent exteriors and luxurious interiors ,” said Deepak Kumar Agrawal, general manager at Skoda Division of MAW.
The sedan comes with an attractive new design, sufficient space, "dependable" safety features and latest technology, the company said.
The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 10.7 seconds and has a top speed of 188 kmph, the comapny claimed.
Skoda Rapid petrol version comes with a manual and automatic transmission. The 1.6-litre petrol engine is capable of producing maximum power of 104 hp at 5,250 rpm and peak torque of 153 Nm at 3,800 rpm.
According to Agrawal, Rapid Active will be available at Rs 3.12 million, Rapid Ambition at Rs 3.37 million and Rapid Elegance at Rs 3.67 million.
