ITAHARI, May 5: A bomb was hurled at a moving bus this afternoon along the Dharan-Itahari road section of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-4, Dharan.
An unidentified person threw the explosive substance at the bus (Me 1 Kha 2734) en route to Kakadbhitta from Dharan. Three-year-old Helen Gautam of Dharan-16 has sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Residents wake up to a bomb in sight
Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, driver of the bus, said that someone threw the explosive substance at the bus all of a sudden that went off with a loud sound after colliding with the outer part of the bus and caused some damages in the vehicle.
Police Inspector Rajan Karki of Area Police Office, Itahari, said that investigations into the case are initiated.
As the Nepal Communist Party (Biplav group) enforced a strike today in order to pile pressure on the government for the release of its cadres, the cadres of the same outfit are suspected responsible for the blast.
