A press statement issued by the bank on Monday says the operating profit before provision of possible losses has increased by 19.8 percent as compared to last year to touch Rs 879.7 million during the review year.
The bank has also succeeded to increase its deposits and loans and advance by 12.3 percent and 14 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, the board meeting of the bank held on Monday decided to propose 15 percent bonus share and 15 percent cash dividend to its shareholders subject to the approval of Nepal Rastra Bank and Annual General meeting of the bank.
Laxmi Bank opens two branches
Laxmi Bank Ltd has opened its 24th and 25th branches at Dharan in Sunsari and Ekantakuna in Lalitpur. Issuing a press statement on Monday, the bank said the branch at Dharan is the bank´s fourth branch in the eastern region.
The Ekantakuna branch is the bank´s 10th branch with Kathmandu Valley. “The Ekantakuna branch is ideally located to serve both households and enterprises from Bhainsepati to Sanepa,” the statement added.
Ace builds Rhino Habitat Center
Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Deepak Bohora inaugurated Rhino Habitat Center in the premises of the Central Zoo in Jawlakhel on Monday. The center was inaugurated on the occasion of 15th anniversary of Ace Development Bank.
The bank had borne the building cost of the center. The bank, which uses one-horned rhino as its mascot, believes that the habitat centre will increase the possibility of rhino breeding at the Central Zoo. The bank mobilized total deposits of Rs 4.02 billion and disbursed Rs 3.27 billion as loans in fiscal year 2009/10. It earned Rs 78.62 million as net profit in the last fiscal year.
Nepal SBI Bank hands over ambulance
Nepal SBI Bank has handed over an ambulance to Paropakar Maternity and Women´s Hospital as a part of its social responsibility initiatives.
Issuing a press statement, the bank said bank chairman B K Shrestha handed over the ambulance to Lata Bajracharya, director of the hospital. “We believe that this endeavor would enhance capacity of the hospital in serving the emergent treatment need of the general public to some extent,” the statement added.
100 plus drink now in market
Marigold Foods Pvt Ltd, a unit of Marigold Group, has launched a new international beverage ´100 plus´ in the Nepali market.
The new energy drink combines optimal blend glucose, sucrose and electrolytes for quick and efficient rehydration, Marigold Marigold Group President Rabindra Man Shrestha said at a ceremony organized to launch the product in the market on Monday.
100 plus, one of the leading beverages in Singapore and Malaysia for the last 15 years, is an isotonic drink that has no caffeine, the company said in a statement.
“Teenagers, youngsters, executives, students and sportspersons are our targeted clientele,” the statement added.
The drink is available in two varieties -100 plus Original and 100 plus Lemon Lime -- in all department stores, restaurants, mini marts, health clubs, sports bar and premium retail outlets.
Sangam KC, director of Marigold Group, claimed that the carbohydrates and electrolytes essential for day to day life are supplemented by the 100 plus drink.
The group has also made available Seasons Ice Lemon Tea manufactured by F&N Singapore in the local market. “The drink is very refreshing and it should be served chilled with some ice cubes, a slice of lemon and mint leaves for the best taste,” KC informed.
Orion mobile sets in market
Gupta Trading House has introduced different models of Orion cell phones in the Nepali market. Orion is a Hungarian company established in 1913 but its management was taken over by the Singapore based Tharkal Group in 1997. All models of Orion mobiles have support two SIM cards and all sets come with free memory cards.
“Orion mobile will provide the luxurious services at affordable prices,” the company said in a press statement on Monday. Gupta Trading has also opened service station for Orion handsets at Bishal Bazar.
Tiggo Exchange Camp extended
Bama Motors Pvt Ltd, the authorized dealer of Chery cars that are made in India, has extended the Tiggo exchange camp till August 26. Under this program, the cars from any other companies can be exchanged with Chery Tiggo.
Buyers of the Tiggo will also receive other facilities like six days trip for Thailand for two, spot finance, free revaluation of old cars, free insurance for a year and free accessories. The exchange program is being conducted at Chery showroom at Thapathali.
Sipradi´s mega exchange camp
Sipradi Motors Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized dealer of Tata vehicles in Nepal, conducted ´Sipradi Mega Exchange Camp´ in the premises of Narayani Auto Business in Balkumari, Lalitpur.
Narayani Auto Business is the sole authorized dealer of Sipradi Trading in Kathmandu. Though the exchange camp, which ran for two days, the company managed to sell 32 vehicles of different models to the customers. The camp also provided free valuation and spot finance facility, Sipradi Trading said in the statement.
Gapagap snack in market
Dugar Spices and Food Products has launched a new snack, Gapagap, in the market. Issuing a press statement, the company said Gapagap is produced using latest technology and is of international standard.
“The taste of Gapagap is completely different than others available in the market,” the statement said, expressing confidence that consumers will like its product. Gapagap is available in three different sizes and their prices stand at Rs 10, Rs 30 and Rs 40, according to the company.
