Other artistes who made it big were Sugam Pokharel, Kunti Moktan and Saran Chhinam who grabbed two awards each. Pokharel claimed Best Pop Composition and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance while Moktan claimed Best Female Vocal Performance and Album Of The Year. Likewise, Chhinam claimed Best Composition and Song Of The Year awards.
Emerging from a pool of five new artistes, Dawa Gurung bagged the Best New Artiste while Fanindra Rai claimed Best Arrangement. The Folk Record Of The Year was claimed by Bima Kumari Dura while Bimal Dangi claimed Folk Album Of The Year. Similarly, the Best Song Originally Recorded For A Motion Picture Soundtrack was claimed by Suresh Adhikari while duo Ram Bhakta Jojiju and Itu Jojiju claimed Best Vocal Collaboration.
In the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Pratima Rajbhandari claimed the title while Best Male Vocal Performance was awarded to Karna Das. Calling it the day, Narendra Pyasi bagged the Record Of The Year with Timi Binako Jeevan. A short footage on the life and achievements of singer/songwriter and musician Pushpa Nepali was also screened as a tribute.
The event reached its high when amidst a standing ovation, Bhajan Shiromani Bhakta Raj Acharya accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award. A total of 20 titles were awarded today in the12th Hits FM Music Awards.
