K-pop girl group BLACKPINK was honored with the ‘‘Best Metaverse Performance’ award at the ‘2022 MTV Video Music Awards’ (2022 MTV VMAs) held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on August 28.

BLACKPINK snagged the award for their PUBG collaboration ‘Ready For Love’ and member Lisa won best K-Pop for her solo ‘Lalisa’. The group performed its new hit single ‘Pink Venom’ at the event.
BLACKPINK was nominated for a total of three categories, ‘Group of the Year’ and ‘Best K-pop’, including ‘Best Metaverse Performance’. In addition to that, SEVENTEEN took home their first award at the VMAs through the ‘Push Performance of the Year’ award with ‘Rock With You’ and BTS won the ‘Group of the Year’.
