BIZ BRIEFS: Scratch card offer on Honda generators

KATHMANDU: Syakar Trading Company -- the authorized distributor of Honda generators and power products in Nepal -- has launched a scratch card scheme, targeting business houses and households. According to a press statement issued by the company, customers will get a scratch card with the purchase of any Honda power products or generators. Through the scratch card they can win instant cash prize of Rs 1,000 to Rs 100,000. "On the first day of the introduction of the offer, Sakil Dev Chaudhary from Kathmandu with coupon number 0695 won Rs 20,000 through scratch card," said the statement.



Godrej organizes customers meet

KATHMANDU: Nepal Commercial Enterprises (NCE), the authorized distributor for Godrej security equipment, home and office furniture, storage equipment and lockers in Nepal, organized a customer´s meet on Friday. According to a press statement issued by the company, the meet was jointly organized by Godrej Security Solutions and NCE. The prime objective of the meet was to understand client´s needs and requirements, said the statement. Representatives from various financial institutions, insurance companies, jewelry business, architects and interior designers among others were present at the program.



"The company aims towards introducing international standards of security in the banking sector in Nepal. NCE and Godrej Security Solutions, stresses upon the quality and durability of their product and firmly believe that this modern state of the art security systems will not only improve the security system of the financial institutions but also offer reasons for their customers to have more trust and confidence on them," the statement said.



Samsung Mobile Expo attracts 150k visitors

KATHMANDU: The ongoing Samsung Mobile Expo 2013 has attracted more than 150,000 visitors so far, Mobile Traders Association of Nepal -- the organizer of the event, said in a statement on Sunday. According to the statement, Coupon No. 4011 has won Samsung Galaxy S Duos as door prize for the fourth day of the event. International Marketing Services -- the sole authorized dealer of Samsung mobile phones for Nepal -- has been providing door prize to one lucky visitor every day, according to the statement. The company will provide Galaxy Note II as bumper door prize on the last day of the expo. The seven-day expo concludes on Tuesday.



MoIC scraps 8 TV licenses

KATHMANDU: Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) has scrapped the operating license of eight television stations effective from Monday. The operator scrapped the license as per the provision of National Broadcasting Act which allows the ministry to scrap the license if the operator fails to go on air after certain time of receiving the license. Saileja Regmi, under secretary at the ministry, said they had already sent a letter to the stations. The TV stations losing their operating licenses include Global Nepal Network, Sunrise Television, Bhumi Television, Voice of Youth Television, Music Television, Arina Television, Makalu Media and Madesh Ka Lagi Sanchar. Of the eight stations, only Makalu Media was on air. Likewise, the ministry is also preparing to scrap the operating licenses of 24 FM stations.
