Big 3 meet at CA building

KATHMANDU, May 26: In a bid to seek a way out to the present political deadlock, a meeting among the senior leaders of the big three parties--Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and UML began at CA building in New Baneshwor on Wednesday.



The meeting was delayed by around an hour as the leaders failed to show up in the scheduled time, 5 pm. [break]



The meeting is expected to come up with much-needed political consensus that would also pave way for the extension of CA term.



Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Narayankaji Shrestha, Mohan Baidya and Ram Bahadur Thapa from Unified CPN (Maoist), acting president Sushil Koirala, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Ram Chandra Paudel, Krishna Sitaula, Arjun Narsingh KC and Bimalendra Nidhi from Nepali Congress and chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, Bishnu Paudel, Bharat Mohan Adhikari, Ishwor Pokharel, Pradeep Gyawali and Agni Kharel, among others, from UML are present in the meeting.



Meanwhile, sit-in protests have been organized by different groups in front of the venue. A large number of people including representatives from the civil society have flocked to the venue. They have been demanding that leaders reach consensus at earliest.
