Bharat Mohan Adhikari flown to Thailand for treatment

KATHMANDU, March 15: Octogenarian CPN-UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari is taken to Thailand on Tuesday for treatment.


According to Adhikari's secretariat, doctors reffered the former deputy prime minister and finance minister to Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok.

Adhikari encountered problem in urinary as well as digestive system. He was first admitted to Kantipur Hospital at Tinkune Kathmandu. As the problems became complicated with abdominal pain, he was referred to Vayodha Hospital at Balkhu. The hospital had discharged Adhikari after treating him for eight days in its ICU.


"Despite all the treatments, the complication grew up. He is taken to Thailand after Dr Yuvaraj Sharma suggested Adhikari to go to a foreign hospital for further treatment," stated a press release issued by Adhikari's secretariat.   


Adhikari is also suffering from heart problem and asthma since a long time. Adhikari is 80 years old.
