Beni adopts digital house number system

MYAGDI, May 25: Beni Municipality of Myagdi has started a digital house numbering system with a QR code.


The digital house number system has been implemented with information and details of all the residents of the municipality. The digital house number system has been implemented to facilitate service delivery, good governance and effective disaster management, said Mayor Surat KC.

The QR code of the digital house number system shares 90 types of information such as the location of the house, the number of floors, color, number of rooms, the type of house structure etc. 


The digital numbering campaign began on Friday evening with Mayor KC handing over the digital house number to Lilaram Gautam and Devi KC of New Road in Beni Municipality-8. In the first phase, digital house number plates will be placed in 1,900 houses of Ward No. 7 and 8 of the municipality. 


The information and details of 7,200 houses in all 10 wards of the municipality have been recorded in the electronic system. According to the municipality, preparations are being made to print digital number plates to be placed on the houses. 


Uttam Karmacharya, the Ward President of Beni Municipality-8, said that the digital house number system has been developed to stop misuse of benefits and avoid duplication while house owners can update their details and seek immediate support for pregnant women, new mothers, sick people, and during the time of disaster.
