KATHMANDU, May 31: Barbara Foundation has announced a special award worth Rs 10 million to frontline health workers including doctors, nurses and ambulance drivers working with the government and community hospitals across the country.


According to a press statement issued by Barbara Foundation, the Foundation has announced the special award worth Rs 10 million received through a generous grant from a business entrepreneur Suhrid Ghimire and his daughter Aditi.

The Award is being provided to frontline health workers in recognition of their hard work and self-less contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic and boost their morale for their works, according to Chairman of Barbara Foundation Dr Sanduk Ruit. 


The Foundation has formed a selection committee under the chair of Prof. Dr Bhagawan Koirala, who is also chairman of Nepal Medical Council, to make selection of a health professional in a free and fair manner to confer the award. The Committee also includes Chairman of Nepal Medical Association Dr Lochan Karki and others as members.
