Misuse of government funds in the name of temples
The Committee has estimated the total cost for renovation at Rs 1.6 million, he added. The locals were facing difficulty is carrying out religious performances as the old temple remained in a decrepit state. The villagers also collected Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 from each household as part of the fund raising campaign.
The renovation works have started with an aim to complete the work within a month. The temple will now have three separate entrances for women, men and for sacrificial offerings of animals.
The temple sees major ritualistic performances and offerings on the day of Janai Purnima whereas the flow of devotees at other time remains constant. The people believe that paying homage to the temple will help them fulfil their wishes.
