He, however, said he loves the socialist ideology of the Nepali Congress. "This party´s (Nepali Congress) cadres called for my release when I was in police custody so I have emotional attachment with the party."
The controversial lawmaker, who was detained on charges of involvement in double-murder case on Saturday and released on ordinary bail on Wednesday, claimed some political parties were running after him.
He also blamed the MPRF for failing to pronounce a single word in his favor, though he was invited by the party as a guest at their recent convention. "It has made me sad, as the party chief who invited me remained silent after I was arrested," he said. "I believe he (MPRF Chief Upendra Yadav) is also responsible for my arrest." Singh was arrested on the inaugural day of the MPRF convention in Birgunj.
Babban to tell Speaker the Maoist lawmaker´s name linked with Uma murder
Talking to reporters, Baban Singh said he would reveal the name of the Maoist lawmaker involved in journalist Uma Singh´s murder after informing the Speaker of the parliament. "I thought it would be better to inform the Speaker first," he said. "Otherwise there will be security threat to me."
He, however, said the same lawmaker who used to carry the murderers of Uma Singh in his vehicle was involved in the murder. When a journalist asked whether it was Maoist lawmaker Jagat Yadav, he said, "yes."
