He was in Sarlahi District to inaugurate a children’s library at Pachaisaka Primary School at Hariban where children as conflict victims study. The library built in the conflict victim house was funded by the amount collected from the film “Rang” and also through other fund collection. According to Hamal, awareness is yet to reach even the leaders.
“It’s the responsibility of every aware citizen to be interested in their country’s politics,” he said. “I won’t switch to politics right now, but there’s a possibility that I may do so in the future.”
He also fielded questions from journalists. When asked whether he would ever take up leadership position of prime minister if he was offered, he answered that if it was what the ordinary citizens of the country desired then he would accept the challenge.
Looking worried when talking about politics, he also said that Nepali film industry won’t develop unless there’s stability in politics.
He suggested that a person who understands films and the industry needs to lead the Film Development Board. Admitting many challenges within the industry, he said that the problem of films not being able to get proper market was due to lack of films that have contemporary feels.
The actor also claimed that he’ll be settling down this year and is also thinking of directing films.
