KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Dol Prasad Aryal has been picked as the Acting President of Rastriya Swatantra Party.
The party's central committee meeting held on Friday night picked party vice President Dol Prasad Aryal as the acting President until further arrangements are made according to the party's statute, said Party General Secretary and Spokesperson Dr Mukul Dhakal.

Aryal was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the party after the decision of the Supreme Court on Friday regarding the citizenship of the party's founding President Rabi Lamichhane.
Similarly, the party's Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting held on Friday decided to elect Aryal as the leader of the party's PP leader as well. The post fell vacant following the Supreme Court's decision that declared Lamichhane ineligible for being a member of parliament.
Meanwhile, the party has requested all its members and well-wishers to exercise restraint and respect the rule of the law at this challenging time for the party.
