The row erupted at the end of the very first match in which Bikram Pariyar of APF was beaten by Laxman Saud of Far Western Region in his home ground in men´s 52kg category. [break]
“APF players were disillusioned that their player was better. But the decision of the jury is the final decision,” said Prachanda Sharma, boxing´s chief coach.
Gold medalist Saud said that the decision was made by the majority of five judges and that everyone must abide by the result.
“I think I played well and there is no reason for me to back off,” said Saud, after a tough match.

That was not the only instance that APF showed unruly behavior.
In another match, Bhupendra Thapa of Nepal Police Club had well beaten Sushil Ghimire of APF, which was clearly visible even to a layman.
Thapa looked more aggressive while Ghimire was merely in a defensive position but he refused to leave the ring after the men´s 64 kg final, disrupting the match for another five minutes. Ghimire, who had won silver in the 11th South Asian Games, was then persuaded away by one of his club mates.
Despite all the hue and cry, APF managed to finish first in the tournament with three gold and five silver medals out of total ten available while NPC secured the second position with three golds and one silver. Central Region was third with two golds as Asiad bronze medalist Deepak Maharjan and Max Basnet secured one medal each.

Maharjan defeated Min Prasad Jora of APF in the final of men´s 81 kg. Basnet beat Ganesh Ram Chaudhary of APF in men´s 91 kg to win gold.
Rabindra Bahaadur Rokaya of Far Western Region clinched gold in men´s above 91 kg after Chandra Bahadur Gurung of Western Region retired from the match.
Other players to bag gold in men´s section were Sudesh Manandhar (49 kg) of NPC, Kabindra Maharjan (56 kg) of APF, Purna Bahadur Lama (60 kg) of APF, Ratna Tamang (69 kg) of NPC and Devendra Maharjan (75 kg) of APF.
In the women´s section, Sanju Lama of APF outclassed Renukala Tamang of Sunsari to take gold in 57 kg category.
Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) between Maya Chaudhary of APF and Sanita Maharjan of Kathmandu in women´s 51 kg after Maharjan got injured.
Minash Rai of NPC outplayed Kopila Singh of Bajura in women´s 64 kg to win gold. Dewana Sherma of NPC also eased past Surajmuni Hemran of Jhapa in women´s 46 kg final.
Likewise, Mala Rai (52 kg), Pramila Pandey (54 kg) and Saraswati Magar (60 kg), all from APF, won gold medals in their respective matches.
