The two posts have been set up at Belauri in Sripur Village Development Committee (VDC) and at Dodhara-Chandni across the Mahakali river.
We established the outposts with a view to controlling crimes and other illegal activities in the border areas and beef up revenue collection," said Superintendent of APF, Rajendra Shakya.
The SP added that the border outposts would also help control "border encroachment". Locals in the areas have long been complaining about encroachment of their lands by Indian citizens.
Both posts will have 46 personnel each. APF Inspector Prem Raj Pandey leads the unit at the Belauri post and Inspector Amar Raj Khatri at Dodhara.
Shakya expressed the confidence that the border outposts would help contain revenue leakage besides controlling encroachment.
Chief District Officer, Kanchanpur Himnath Dawadi said that the posts would help maintain law and order in the areas.
"We set up the posts after the villagers in the areas demanded it," Dawadi said. The APF posts that had been established in many places in the district have been withdrawn following the Constituent Assembly elections in April last year.
