As per the Armed Police Force Act and regulation, it is punishable by law to support any political party or a leader and take membership of a party. But, the news link that is aimed to advertise the Deuba panel was shared through the official Twitter handle.
The APF shared a link mentioning ‘these are central committee candidates of Deuba panel’ at 1:11 pm this afternoon. However, the tweet has later deleted in the evening.
Social media remained bemused and abuzz throughout the day following the tweet.
It was not the first instance that the link with political message was shared through the Twitter account.
A news link mentioning ‘there will be no joint statement by Nepal and Indian PM’ was shared by the account on February 9 which has not been deleted till date.
Earlier, Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) had sought clarification from the then APF Chief Koshraj Onta for sharing materials ‘intended to disgrace Nepal Police.’
