KATHMANDU, June 15: Wendy House High School in Kathmandu hosted an 'Annual Inter-school English Elocution Competition' on Friday. Students from six schools participated in the competition.

According to a press statement issued by the organizer, the participating students were divided into three groups - Group A (Grades 5-6,) Group B (Grades 7-8,) and Group C (Grades 9-10) in group and solo categories. Wendy House High School, Kasthamandap Vidyalaya, Malpi City School, John Dewey, Chandbagh and Brihaspati Vidya Sadan students (Grade 5-10) auditioned their recital dexterity. A panel of judges comprising Republica Editor Subhash Ghimire, Interface Nepal Executive Director Shikha Prasai and educationist Bishwa Kumar Karki determined the winners on five key points, namely memorization, diction, communication, interpretation and performance.
Grade 6 students of Malpi City School who recited the 'The Rock and the Bubble' galloped through seizing the first place trophy in Category A- Group Performance. Similarly, Tenzing G Yangzon, a Grade 5 student of John Dewey School, with 'The Tummy Beast' won the first place trophy in Category A- Solo execution. Grade 6 students of Wendy House School with the 'The Owl and the Pussy Cat' won the Second Place in Category A- for group performance.
