Anil impressed the home crowd of Shillong in his debut performance. Anil created scoring chance for Niwan O Gatpoh but the midfielder missed the opportunity.
Anil was signed by SLFC on Friday for Rs 6.36 million for three years.
Prime, Goldengate A into Prime Cup quarterfinals
KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Winning their third consecutive matches in the boys´ category, hosts Prime and Goldengate ´A´ entered the quarterfinals of the Seventh Prime Cup +2 (U-19) Basketball Championship here Monday.
Prime thrashed Bernhardt with the final score of 62-25. The hosts, playing at the home court, dominated Bernhardt in all the four quarters. In the first two quarters, Prime scored 13 points each while Bernhardt scored four and six points respectively. In the last two quarters Prime conquered with the score of 15-9 and 21-6 respectively. Deepak Pun scored 22 points for the winning side.Likewise, Goldengate ´A´ defeated Orient 36-14. Goldengate scored 18 points in the first quarter while Orient scored only four. Goldengate maintained the lead as the second and third quarters´ scores were 9-2 and 5-4. The score in the final quarter was 4-4. Pradeep Bhattachan, who scored 11 points, was the highest scorer for Goldengate.
In the other matches of the day, RIA defeated Whitehouse 47-45, Ullens outclassed Rato Bangala 50-32 while CPS beat Galaxy 32-26 and Ace thrashed Gyanodaya 46-35. Likewise, Xavier International beat NCCS 44-33 in the group match.
In girls´ class, Xavier International defeated NCCS by 38-13. Xavier put up the lead in all the four quarters with 11-2, 7-4, 5-0 and 15-7. Seema Rai scored 21 points for Xavier.
Nepal´s poor run continues in Asian Indoor Games
KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Nepal lost 33-11 to Jordan on Sunday in the ongoing Three-on-Three Basketball match in the ongoing Third Asian Indoor Games being held in Vietnam. Sadish Pradhan and Bipendra Maharjan netted seven and four points respectively for Nepal.
Chess
Nepal´s performance remained forgettable in the fourth and the fifth rounds of chess on Monday. In the rapid board of the fourth and fifth rounds, Mona Lisa Khumbu lost to Dalwak Ibrahim of Iran and E Chen Chen of Taiwan respectively. However, the result remained mixed for Asmita Adhikari who lost to Ghaida Antar of Jordan in the fourth round and beat Kusiripanit of Thailand in the fifth round.
In the men´s same event, Nepal Champion Badrilal Nepali eased past Abdur Rahman Ali of Maldives and lost to Sami Khader of Jorden in the fourth and fifth rounds respectively. Wilam Lal Shrestha lost to Atsuhiko Kowayasi in the fourth round.
Earlier on Saturday, in the team mixed game of chess, Nepal lost to Macau. Three players suffered defeat while Badrilal Nepali emerged triumphant.
Snooker
Shyam Khadgi was defeated in snooker in men´s singles category on Monday. Lim Chong Ket of Singapore beat Khadgi 4-0.
