A press statement issued by Nepal Shakes says that the play is set in the last days of the Great Mahabharata war when the rules of war are impinged and the Brahmastra, the ultimate weapon of destruction akin to today’s weapons of mass destruction, is unleashed. [break]
The play, written by Dharamvir Bharati, will be performed in Nepali.
It’s the outcome of a month-long intensive theatre-training workshop that brought together 30 Nepali students and the teaching faculty of NSD.
The play is directed by Bharati himself.
The play explores the issues of conflict and morality in the time of conflict and addresses the prospect of reconciliation in such times.
Andho Yug will be staged on April 27, Wednesday at Rastriya Naach Ghar from 6pm.
Tickets to the event are priced at Rs 200 each and available at Dhokaima Café, Patan.
Tickets will also be available at the venue on the day of the staging.
