SARLAHI, Aug 5: The District Administration Office in Sarlahi has imposed a six-day prohibitory order starting 6 AM today morning to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Issuing a notice, the District Administration Office (DAO) stated that the prohibitory order will continue until August 11 midnight.

The DAO's decision to impose the prohibitory order comes after an increase in coronavirus cases across Province 2. Parsa district has witnessed 12 deaths due to COVID-19 as of today while other districts have also recorded growing cases of coronavirus in recent weeks.

Chief District Officer Surendra Poudel said that they decided to impose the prohibitory order for six days from Wednesday to prevent and control further spread of the virus. "We are also looking at more effective ways to manage the crisis," Poudel said.

For three days starting today no one will be allowed to come out of their houses except those in need of medical attention and those involved in providing essential services.

In its notice, the DAO also said that stringent action will be taken against anyone violating the prohibitory order.

During this period, all services except for highly essential ones dealing with health, drinking water, dairy, electricity; ambulances and fire trucks, waste management, fuel, and medicines will remain closed, according to the DAO.
