KATHMANDU, Dec 3: The works of as many as 53 artists have been put on display at Park Gallery, Pulchowk on the occasion of 11th Annual Park Art Fair, 2017. Art enthusiasts can observe as well as purchase several works of art at the three-day fair that kicked off on Friday.
The art fest features modern as well as contemporary artworks of Nepal. The fair first began in 2007 before turning into an annual affair. It aims at encouraging aspiring as well as established artists and giving them a chance to exhibit their works.
An Amalgamation of Visibility and Vibration
At the exhibition, one can view the abstract works of late artist Puran Khadka, which he called wholeness. The exhibition not only features paintings but also showcases sculptures, prints, photographs and drawings, among others.
In one of the drawings of artist Nabin Nablo, he has drawn veteran artist Gopal Kala Premi working on his artwork while in the background two men are happily collecting money. Nabin said, “I have tried to depict the setting of artists rather than political figures in this drawing and I started drawing these kinds of arts since the last Kathmandu International Art Festival.”
Other artists featured in the fair have worked on various themes such as expressing self, natural beauty, culture, urbanization, lifestyle, love, and hope, among others. Artist Sundar Lama showcased performance art during the opening ceremony of the fair with the theme self expression searching for his identity in the society.
The exhibition is slated to continue till December 3.
