AISC begins monitoring in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR, Jan 16: Following the formal departure of the UNMIN, an eight-member team under the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) has arrived to monitor the weapons of the third division of the UCPN-Maoist combatants at Shaktikhor.



The team began its work from Saturday evening. [beak]



Assistant commander in the third division of the Maoist fighters, Deepak said the team comprised the representatives of Nepali Army, Armed Police, Nepal Police and Maoist fighters.



The UNMIN representatives in the division were seen off by the eight-member team which also held a discussion with the Maoist fighters in the cantonment on Saturday night.



It is said they discussed on the role the UNMIN played for the monitoring of the fighters and the weapons.
