KATHMANDU, Nov 27: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has said that the acquisition of aircraft and the ongoing organizational restructuring are not mutually exclusive endeavors. Despite questions arising about the restructuring process, NAC, in its pursuit of acquiring aircraft for domestic flights, emphasizes that both aspects are integral to its operations.
The response underscores the necessity of aircraft for the corporation's day-to-day operations, particularly in serving remote areas. Simultaneously, it reassures that restructuring efforts are underway, progressing gradually.
To facilitate flights to remote regions, NAC is in the process of procuring three TwinOtter aircraft, with the corporation asserting that the financial resources for this venture will be generated internally.
In a statement issued by Spokesperson Ramesh Paudel, NAC clarified, "The corporation can effectively manage these aircraft as they are expected to be delivered within six months, and the entire payment will not be made in one lump sum."
Furthermore, NAC emphasizes the transparency of its aircraft procurement process, highlighting that it has obtained the necessary permissions from the relevant ministry.
This development comes in response to earlier committee reports advocating the indispensability of the aircraft, asserting their crucial role in the qualitative enhancement of the corporation.
